At H.W. Larsen, you’ll find a wide range of plates, bowls, mugs, cutlery, serving items and glassware from Aida – everything you need for a beautiful and functional table setting. Aida combines Danish design heritage with contemporary trends, shaping modern homes with collections that are both elegant and practical. From classic pieces to colourful and creative series, Aida offers something for every taste and budget.
Aida was founded in 1953 by Ancher Iversen and Arne Kofod-Hansen under the name Iversen & Kofod Aps. The company began with the clever idea of purchasing surplus porcelain and decorating it – and from there, Aida was born. Today, Aida is a design house creating iconic collections such as Atelier – launched in 1984 and still one of Denmark’s best-selling series – and the popular RAW collection, originating from Søholm’s historic Bornholm ceramics factory, which Aida acquired in 1996.
Aida follows current design trends without compromising on its core values: quality, craftsmanship, functionality and value for money. Among its recent releases is LIFE IN COLOUR – an ambitious collection designed in collaboration with world-renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid. The collection consists of four ranges: Confetti, Karim Rashid, Art and Lido.
Are Aida porcelain and stoneware dishwasher-safe?
Yes, both stoneware and porcelain are dishwasher-safe. However, avoid sudden temperature changes – never place cold stoneware on a hot surface or vice versa, as this can cause cracking.
What material is Aida cutlery made from?
All Aida cutlery is made from stainless steel – or more accurately, corrosion-resistant steel – since all steel alloys can rust if not properly maintained.
What should I do if my stoneware becomes marked by cutlery?
It’s completely normal for stoneware to show light cutlery marks over time. These can typically be removed with a cleaning powder such as Vienna chalk.
How should I care for Aida wooden products?
Teak items should be washed by hand, carefully dried, and treated regularly (for example, once a year) with food-safe oil. Any odours can be removed using coarse salt and lemon. Do not put wooden items in the dishwasher, as it can damage the wood’s structure.
Are Aida products environmentally friendly?
Aida prioritises sustainability by using durable materials, reusing surplus production, and focusing on timeless design that lasts for years. The leather placemats are made from 95% recycled leather, and the RAW stoneware range contains at least 50% recycled clay.
Can Aida thermal bottles go in the dishwasher?
No, thermal bottles must be hand-washed. Do not use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners, and dry thoroughly before storing. They must not be used in microwaves and are not suitable for carbonated drinks.
